The 2026 Artisan Collection

A Chair Affair began with a simple idea: invite artists to reimagine a chair and transform it into something unforgettable. What followed became a tradition rooted in craftsmanship and shared purpose.

Over time, the event grew. Today, it supports all five of the Boys & Girls Club of Rochester’s core program pillars: academic success, workforce development, character and leadership development, healthy lifestyles, and the arts.

The artisan chairs remain a meaningful nod to our origins — a celebration of creativity that continues to open doors for local youth.

Dana Hlebichuk – Mila, 2026

Inspired by Antoni Gaudí’s Casa Milà, the bench embraces fluid curvature and softened asymmetry — rejecting rigid geometry in favor of movement and organic flow.

Crafted from repurposed church pew wood and butcher block oak, the piece carries both material history and contemporary refinement. The richly grained seat offers warmth and depth, while the sculptural black base provides a striking architectural counterpoint. Every element is intentional — from the balance of negative space to the confident interplay of line and mass.

Mila is not simply furniture; it is a study in structure and restraint. Timeless, grounded, and quietly commanding, this piece would feel equally at home in a curated modern interior or as a statement accent within a historic space.

An elegant acquisition for collectors who value design integrity and architectural influence.

Diane O’Brien – White Cat, 2026

Mysterious. Glamorous. Unapologetically bold.

White Cat is a study in allure and attitude. Draped in sumptuous white faux fur and anchored by a sleek black frame, this piece commands attention from across the room. The sculpted silhouette evokes vintage Hollywood glamour, while the embellished backrest — complete with shimmering eyes and dramatic lashes — gives the chair a persona all its own.

Playful yet sophisticated, White Cat blurs the line between furniture and character. The marble-inspired detailing and glittering accents add depth and intrigue, creating a striking contrast against the softness of the fur. It is both throne and statement piece — inviting admiration while maintaining a hint of mystery.

A conversation starter. A focal point. A little bit untamed.

For the collector who appreciates drama, design, and a touch of theatrical charm.

Joe Adamson – Harvest Time, 2026

Mary Knoll Barns, Est. 1919

A commanding fusion of agricultural innovation and historic preservation, Harvest Time draws directly from the storied Mary Knoll Barns — a 1919 landmark built by the Sisters of St. Francis to supply dairy to St. Mary’s Hospital.

This sculptural piece incorporates authentic components from early 20th-century hay-handling machinery once used within the barn’s working systems — a facility considered cutting-edge agricultural science in its time. The industrial metal framework, preserved mechanical detailing, and structured wood seat create a refined dialogue between strength and legacy.

The accompanying grain sack pillow references original regional grain cloth once repurposed within farm households — here reimagined as a subtle nod to the barn’s agricultural roots.

More than a chair, Harvest Time is a collectible artifact — a tangible link to Rochester’s agricultural foundation, the origins of what would become the Mayo Clinic system, and a century of stewardship and restoration. It is both heritage and design, reinterpreted for today.

TJ & Andy Bonnes – Treefall, 2026

Treefall is a commanding study in contrast — raw nature suspended within industrial precision. The seat and backrest feature live-edge wood harvested from a downed cherry and black walnut tree from Andy’s own property, preserved in fluid resin that captures movement like water frozen in time. The organic curves remain intact, honoring the natural form rather than forcing symmetry.

Encasing this warmth is an architectural framework of rebar — a material rarely meant to be seen, elevated here into deliberate artistry. The steel lines bend and radiate with intention, culminating in a dramatic root-like base that anchors the piece with striking visual force. What is typically hidden within concrete is brought forward, reshaped, and celebrated.

The composition speaks to possibility: that structure can be beautiful, that fallen materials can be transformed, and that imagination is the only true limitation.

Cycle Erie – Dealt with Care, 2026

Crafted in solid hardwood with a warm, hand-finished tone, Dealt with Care is a refined and intimate gathering set designed to invite conversation and connection. The clean-lined table is balanced by two beautifully constructed chairs featuring sculpted back splats and rich upholstered seats, offering both comfort and classic character.

The proportions are thoughtfully scaled, making this piece equally suited for a cozy breakfast nook, reading corner, or dedicated game space. A built-in lower shelf adds subtle functionality without interrupting the simplicity of the design.

Accompanied by a custom cribbage board, this set blends craftsmanship and tradition into a cohesive statement piece—one that feels both heirloom-worthy and warmly lived-in.

Little Hands, Big Ideas – Kelly Brevik & Bella Brevik, 2026

3rd Annual Daddy/Daughter Build

A centuries-old Scandinavian form meets vibrant, contemporary expression.

Constructed in the traditional Viking chair style — known for its ingenious interlocking construction and sculptural simplicity — these pieces stand with architectural confidence. The dramatic vertical silhouette and clean planes create a striking modern profile rooted in historic craftsmanship.

What transforms this pair is the bold geometric composition layered across each surface. Crisp white lines intersect fields of saturated color — emerald, cobalt, coral, lemon, and blush — creating a dynamic mosaic of movement and energy. The pattern feels both graphic and joyful, turning a historic form into a statement of creativity and collaboration.

This third annual Daddy/Daughter build celebrates the beauty of shared craftsmanship — where legacy design meets fresh imagination. The result is a pair of chairs that feel at once playful and refined, contemporary yet grounded in tradition.

Arlan Walton – Walnut Round Pedestal Table, 2026

Understated and elegant, this round pedestal table celebrates the quiet luxury of fine hardwood. The solid top showcases the natural depth and movement of the wood grain, finished to a smooth, satin sheen that enhances its warmth.

The structured vertical supports create a strong architectural foundation, while the lower shelf provides both proportion and utility. Every line is clean. Every edge purposeful.

Refined without excess, this piece is a study in craftsmanship — a timeless accent table that complements both traditional and modern interiors.

ROCA Youth Collective – Strength in Motion, 2026

Created by middle and high school members of the ROCA Climbing Club, this trio of chairs reflects the movement, imagination, and upward momentum that define both climbing and youth creativity. Each piece was designed as a way to give back — translating time spent scaling walls and exploring natural landscapes into expressive works of art.

On the left, Daa Waterfall channels the dynamic motion of cascading water. Layered blues and white highlights create a sense of continuous movement, while a high-gloss finish enhances the illusion of water in motion. The result is immersive and rhythmic — expressive, yet grounded in intention.

At the center, Into the Spider-Verse brings bold energy and teamwork to life. Inspired by the iconic hero and his evolving universe, this vibrant red and blue design celebrates collaboration, imagination, and the belief that everyone has the ability to be a hero in their own way.

On the right, Rosy Peaks captures the quiet drama of sunset over distant mountains. A carefully blended ombré sky transitions into layered fields of wildflowers, creating depth and structure across the chair’s form. The composition mirrors the patience, discipline, and confidence that come from scaling new heights.

Together, these pieces represent initiative, mentorship, and the powerful intersection of athletics and artistry. Proceeds from these chairs support youth arts programming — ensuring more young people have opportunities to explore, create, and grow.

Kelly Brevik – North Star Stool, 2026

Rooted in heritage and reimagined with purpose, this Minnesota-inspired chair blends reclaimed materials into a striking, design-forward statement. Rugged metal elements are thoughtfully paired with warm, restored wood, creating a balance of strength and authenticity.

The adjustable industrial base adds both function and architectural presence, while the richly grained seat highlights the character that only repurposed materials can offer. Each imperfection tells a story — preserved rather than concealed — giving the piece depth and integrity.

With its subtle nod to “Up North” sensibility and enduring craftsmanship, this stool feels equally at home in a refined cabin retreat, a modern home bar, or a thoughtfully curated interior.

A celebration of sustainability, resilience, and timeless Minnesota pride.
