Mark designed the chairs himself and they are beautifully crafted of burr oak and walnut that was provided by the Canadian Honker. Each one of them is carved with “mama”, “papa” and “baby”, so our three favorite bears know where to sit down and enjoy a meal together or read a book.

This fun stool was hand carved by Rochester City Council member Bob Nowicki; also know for creating the Barefoot Santas. It has beautiful and detailed toads carved around and plays on the phrase “toad” stool. It is definitely one of a kind!! Bob’s philosophy in life is “Eat a live toad first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen for the rest of the day.” (This comes in handy when serving on the City Council).

Deb’s intention was to create a soulful place of rest. The high back to this deacon style chair was formerly an amber stained glass window in the sanctuary of Faith Methodist United Church in Eyota, MN. Removed in 2001, Deb has kept the window and has now found a new home for it in this awe-inspiring piece. The oak woodwork was created by master woodworker Leroy Higgins; the stained glass, Dove of Peace, was created by Deb Vossler; and the 3-in-1 prayer shawl was crocheted by Sue Kiel; all current members of Faith Methodist United Church.

This innovative chair is made with old remnants of the old agricultural system by a high-school student as a class assignment. The main frame of the chair is made of rusty iron fencepost and a broken component of an animal feeder, both of which were lying in piles in the woods, no longer needed. These pieces were welded together to form a strong base, with the addition of some rusted rod from the same scrap piles. The artisan challenges us to look to the past to ensure a better future for all.

Spirit Chair

The century-old timber in this chair was harvested near Barnes, Wisconsin following a tornado that uprooted acres of old pines. The snow shoe is Indian hand-made and has been vigorously used through many Ojibway winters. The antlers, with tracking tag still attached, is a gift of a forest animal. The ancient spear tip at the base is a “cornfield find” from the Prairie du Chein area. The carved tree motif is hand done by the artist/wood worker who made the chair.

This height adjustable music stand is expertly handcrafted of maple and walnut, with a high gloss finish. Bob constructed it using no metal fasteners, rather assembled it using wooden dowels and carpenters’ glue. It was so carefully constructed; it took about 40 hours to create. Clearly Courting

This ultra-modern twist on the antique courting chair is made completely of glass, using 3/8” thick clear tempered glass for all pieces. Hentges Glass Company was able to construct this chair without the use of any mechanical hardware by using special glue that is activated with the use of an ultra-violet light. The side-by-side sitting areas have a lower armrest area between them allowing ease of communication when in use. This chair will support two adults sitting at once, although we recommend it to be used as an art piece.
